Service Description: Delivers medical transportation services and assistance in making medical appointment arrangements
  • Provides transportation to medical appointments within the community
  • Provides transportation and/or assistance from/to Pic River First Nation to medical appointments (doctor, dentist, optometrist, specialist, physiotherapy) in Marathon
  • Offers transportation to the local Greyhound bus station for out-of-town appointments
  • Services are provided by way of a wheel-chair accessible medical van
Fees: None
Application: Contact Health Centre reception during regular hours to make arrangements; after hours call Medical Van at 807-228-3524

  • Requires written proof of medical appointment and pre-authorization by Health Centre

  • Requires 24 hour advance booking; exceptions made for emergencies

  • Advance cancellation recommended
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Members of Biigtigong Nishnaabeg and any residents living in the community who require assistance with medical transportation due to:

  • Illness, injury or age or

  • Do not have a vehicle or vehicle is otherwise not available
