Linda’s mother has dementia and limited mobility. In this brief video, Linda tells us about her and what it’s like to be her primary caregiver. Here are some of the points Linda touches on:

  • feeling anxious about her mother’s safety, given her recent history of falls
  • using an alert system that automatically detects a fall without her mother having to remember to press a button
  • dealing with siblings who have conflicting opinions
  • seeking out a caregiver support group to combat stress and loneliness

The video was produced by the Changing CARE (Cultivating Change) project in Toronto, a partnership of Bridgepoint, Woodgreen and The Change Foundation.

You can search for a caregiver support group in your part of Ontario by using our Find Services feature.

Linda’s story is one of several in the Change Foundation’s video library. The library also contains a number of stories told by young adults who have found themselves in caregiving roles.
