Service Description:
  • Offers various employment and training services to Indigenous clients
  • Funds training initiatives from various sponsors or for clients who require additional training to secure employment
  • Offers practical career, employment, and individual counselling
  • Provides funding for following initiatives:
    • Mobility Assistance
    • Pre-employment assistance
    • Purchase of Training Program
    • Self-employment assistance
    Offers financial assistance for:
    • Course costs and materials (can include books, tuition etc)
    • Income support (daycare and travel costs, training allowance)
    • Living away from home allowances
    Fees: None
    Application: Application and related forms available on website

    • Individual required to research training opportunities

    • Must provide labour market research to support training request

    • Must provide letters of possible employment from potential employers


    To qualify for a Whitesand FN sponsored training program, individual must also provide:

    • Updated resume

    • Name of training provider/institution with contact name

    • Training outline for the program

    • Dates of program and number of hours per week

    • Total cost of training including materials and taxes

    • Letter of acceptance into program

    • Completed Client Application form

    • Completed Participant Information form

    • Signed Employment Insurance (EI) Verification form

    • Signed Client Consent form

    • Copy of Status Card, Social Insurance Number and driver's license


    NOTE: Upon completion of the above requirements, applicant required to book an appointment with Program Manager
