Service Description: A 16-bed licensed retirement home dedicated to the care of women with dementia * secure facility designed to make residents feel at home * high level of care, compassion, friendship and love * barrier-free residential bungalow features two separate wings with eight private bedrooms each, while the center features the spacious common area and includes a living room, dining area and kitchen * private bedrooms feature a two-piece washroom * respite care for people with dementia

Services and amenities include: 24 hour care * registered nursing staff * medication management * nutritious meals and snacks * social, physical and educational activities * spacious and secure back-yard * large raised garden boxes for personal gardening * housekeeping * colour-coded hallways * camouflaged doors * outdoor walking paths
Fees: Set fees * respite $200 overnight (no minimum), $25/hour daytime
Application: Call * prior to admission, applicants must be assessed to ensure eligibility criteria are met and that the home can meet the individual's needs

The process includes: a comprehensive medical and mental status assessment by the applicant's physician * a family and social history completed by Richmond Care Home staff * a functional assessment of the activities of daily living
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Females living with dementia, other related disorders or experiencing mild to severe memory loss * ambulatory * able to feed themselves and to manage some self-care with assistance * free of aggressive behavior * without acquired traumatic brain syndrome
