Service Description: |
Clinic offers treatment for families with children and adolescents who are experiencing, or at risk for, serious medical and psychological consequences associated with obesity and type 2 diabetes * through a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach, the clinic supports families in embracing behaviour changes which build positive habits and long-term health outcomes * program will consist of pre-scheduled group sessions and individual appointments Multi-disciplinary team consists of a Pediatric Endocrinologist, Registered Nurse, Social Workers, Registered Dietitians, and Activity Specialist, who together support families in making changes for a healthier lifestyle, including getting more active, eating healthy, and getting the right amount of sleep * clinic offers family-based behavioural treatment through individualized care, group education, and physical activity sessions, and treatment plans are based on the unique needs of each family |
