Service Description: Volunteer based programs providing support to clients/caregivers

Caregiver Support Group:

  • organized on a monthly basis for caregivers and volunteers designed to educate, inform, and empower caregivers
  • participants learn about health-related issues
  • receive information on other programs available in the community to support and help them through the caregiving process
  • network with other caregivers

Friendly Visiting Program/Telephone Reassurance:

  • regular volunteer visits and/or phone calls to seniors who live in their home, hospital, and long term care setting
  • provide companionship and reassurance
  • respite and support to caregivers
  • security reassurance checks by telephone
  • free of cost / available in Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon
