Service Description: Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Hospital services available at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Treaty #3 Police Services, Grassy Narrows Patrol Zone; ph: 807-925-2221, fax: 807-925-2479
  • Child & Family services overseen by Anishinaabe Abinooji Child & Family Services; Kenora Office ph: 807-468-6224, fax: 807-468-6643; Grassy Narrows took over administering Child & Family services themselves Apr 2013 under the name Kitapinoonjiiminaanik Family Services
  • Community members conduct most shopping and business affairs in the city of Kenora
  • Provides a community store called JB's Store which also serves as the Canada Post postal station and gas bar
  • Provides the Sakatcheway Anishinabe School for students from JK-Grade 12 and the Migizi Wazason Child Care Centre
  • Offers the Grassy Narrows Multipurpose Complex for communty events
  • Publishes a community newsletter the "Ogagwejimaan"
