Service Description: Provides culturally appropriate and holistic long term support services and programs

Aboriginal Support Program
  • Provides afternoons for socialization and activities such as Native crafts
  • Offers prescription deliveries to clients' homes
  • Provides accompaniment to appointments and errands
  • Offers assistance with various tasks such as letter writing
Congregate Dining
  • Organizes a twice-monthly luncheon
  • Provides story telling, activities and refreshments for program participants
  • Provides transportation for attendees
Friendly Visiting
Arranges weekly visits from support worker in individual's home upon request

Security Checks
Makes weekly calls to clients' homes to check on them and to determine pending appointments

Transportation Program
  • Provides transportation on an as needed basis to all events at the Centre, the hospital or clinic and for errands around town including grocery shopping
  • Arranges transportation for out of town specialist appointments when no other arrangements are available
Yoga Program
  • Coordinates a yoga program at the recreation centre
  • Chair Yoga every Monday morning

Transportation Program

Must call a minimum of 24 hours ahead to make arrangements
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Open to all individuals 55 years of age and older with a focus on urban Indigenous individuals who are disabled, chronically ill and/or have special needs

Transportation Program

  • Must be a client of the program

  • Priority given for medical appointments
