Service Description: Functions as the governing centre for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Nishnawbe-Aski Police Services, Northwest Region; local ph: 807-775-9954; fax: 807-775-9955
  • Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Tikinagan Child and Family Services in Sioux Lookout
  • Hospital services available at Meno Ya Win Health Centre in Sioux Lookout and Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital in Red Lake
  • Offers one main Northern Store, three private gas stations, J & D Trading and a few small privately-run businesses
  • Operates a Canada Post postal service
  • Operates a small airport maintained and serviced by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario and served by Wasaya Airways
  • Provides air ambulance services as needed
  • Offers the local Ennis Memorial TV & Radio Station used daily to share community news
  • Co-owns a small run-of-the-river hydro generating station on the Severn River with Hydro One
