Service Description: Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities

Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Tikinagan Child and Family Services in Sioux Lookout
  • Hospital services available in Geraldton; Clinic services available in Nakina
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Nishnawbe-Aski Police Services; additional Police services through OPP NW Region in Geraldton
  • Provides a family-operated store which also houses a Canada Post postal station
  • Additional shopping and services such as a Northern Store, gas bar, restaurant, arena and church available in Nakina located 15 minutes from the community
  • Provides Aroland FN businesses, O'Sullivan Lake Gas Bar and Towedo Buslines, both located in Nakina
  • Offers recreational facilities including an outdoor hockey rink, school playground, community hall with playground, Pow Wow grounds and a sports field
  • Serviced for medical emergency response/ambulance services by the township of Nakina
  • Administers Johnny Therriault Memorial School and education services through the Aroland Education Authority
  • Provides a Volunteer Fire Department
  • Coordinates health programs and limited health care services at the Aroland Health Centre
