Service Description:

Provides companionship, respite care, and emotional support to people and their family/caregivers dealing with a life-threatening illness * assists with end of life care and grief supports following death * helps people remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible * support provided for all ages at home, hospital, residential or long-term care home * services begin at the time of diagnosis and continue throughout the duration of the illness * grief and bereavement supports also available for anyone experiencing loss

Resource Library - Variety of resources available for loan on subjects such as, End-of-life care, Children/Youth, Grief and Suicide Support * resources include literature, audio and video

Grief and Bereavement Services - Grief support services are available to individuals who need help healing from a loss of any kind, recent or long ago * services are available in a safe, comfortable environment * structured and informal Grief Support Groups are facilitated at various times throughout the year

Books and Bears for Kids This program is aimed to provide children with healthy, adaptive ways to manage and normalize feelings around life-limiting illness, loss, and death through proper language and literature.

Grief and Bereavement Outreach Provides education and one-on-one support to both the caregivers, families and the bereaved about the grief process

Palliative Visiting Volunteer Program Psychological and emotional support for anticipatory, acute and chronic grief for people facing the challenge of a life-limiting illness
